Max Adler to Return for Final Season of GLEE as Blaine's Boyfriend?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Max Adler is set to return to the FOX musical dramedy Glee to reprise his role as football jock Dave Karofsky. The character was originally portrayed as an anti-gay bully before doing a complete 360 and coming out as openly gay in later seasons.

According to the report, the actor's storyline will be "major" and he will appear in at least four of the final 13 episodes of the show's sixth season. Sources tell the site that Dave may now be romantically involved with Blaine (Darren Criss), who ended season five in a steady relationship with his long time partner Kurt, played by Chris Colfer.

However, Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy shared this spring that the final season would feature a time jump and return its focus to where the show all began. Does the mean the end for Kurt and Blaine?

Commented Murphy, "The final season is really its own story and its own location and while the New York stuff will be alive, the final season is not New York-centric at all. It really [will be] a lovely, fitting season that ... dwells on the original people that were on the show and what happens to them and how they give back. That really is the last season .... We'll revisit some of the new kids that came and went. There's a return of the Jane-Matt characters in a big way. It's really interesting, very sweet, satisfying ending to the story."

Adler last appeared in the 17th episode of Glee's fifth season at Rachel's pre-Opening Night dream sequence. He was recently seen on ABC Family's Switched at Birth. His other TV credits include upcoming appearances in Saugatuck Cures, The Midnight Man and episodes of Last Resort and CSI. He's repped by CESD and Justice & Ponder.
