Despite creative changes - including a new writer and new directors - BOB THE MUSICAL, a new movie from Disney, is making strides toward the silver screen.

In BOB THE MUSICAL, after being struck in the head a mild-mannered man man wakes up to find his worst nightmare has come true - his life having become a musical, allowing him to hear the "inner song" of people's hearts.

Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman continues his work as composer for the film, which has been in various stages of pre-production for several years.

Shaiman is a Tony Award Winner as composer and co-lyricist for the smash Broadway success HAIRSPRAY, and a five-time Academy Award nominee for such films as "The First Wives Club" and "The American President." He also brought CATCH ME IF YOU CAN to Broadway in spring 2011.

Matthew Fogel (Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son) has signed on as a writer, according to Variety, and Phil Lord and Chris Miller will co-direct - replacing Adam Shankman and Mark Waters, who were separately attached to the project at various points throughout its journey to theaters.

No release date has yet been set for the film.
