Singer Lynn Henderson will return to the Metropolitan Room on June 3rd at 7pm with a new show titled "I TRAVEL ALONE." This is her second engagement at the popular club; in 2012 Lynn performed her successful show, "TRY TO REMEMBER" - described as a joy-filled, tasteful romp through a life well lived.

"In her debut at the Metropolitan Room, Lynn Henderson made some very impressive choices, and many of these elements came together in a most delightful way...Lynn Henderson is a winsome and welcome addition to the cabaret scene." Cabaret Scenes Magazine

After the end of her marriage, Lynn Henderson did what the women in Under the Tuscan Sun and Eat, Pray, Love did: she went on a journey of discovery. Traveling on bicycle, on foot and horseback, she wandered through Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Laos, Cambodia, India, South Africa and more. "I TRAVEL ALONE" is a musical memoir of this experience.

"I TRAVEL ALONE" includes songs that range from Cat Stevens and Paul Simon to Noel Coward, Jimmy Webb, Burt Bacharach/Hal David, and others to tell the story of her travels and the many memorable experiences she encountered along the way. Lynn will be joined by Douglas J. Cohen, on piano and vocals; Bob Sabin, on bass and Sherrie Maricle on drums

Lynn began her singing career in college and has performed with such notables as Skitch Henderson, founder of the NY Pops; conductor and pianist Rob Fisher; jazz pianist John diMartino; and percussionist, Sherrie Maricle. She recently released her debut CD, Singer at Work. Cabaret superstar, Marilyn Maye said in a review of the CD, "... her great love for the art of singing come(s) through beautifully ..... She delivers the lyric with understanding, honesty and caring." In Tune International wrote: "This CD is just what's 'right' with the art of singing. Her take on two Jobim songs: "Dindi" (Gilbert) and "Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars" (Lees) is spellbinding."

Mr. Cohen is a recipient of the Fred Ebb Award for Musical Theatre Songwriting and has received two Richard Rodgers Awards. He was the first recipient of the Noël Coward Prize. He was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics for Children's Letters to God... He received a Jonathan Larson Grant for his music toBarnstormer.

Mr. Sabin is a bassist, composer, and educator specializing in jazz and contemporary improvised music. He was awarded Second Place in the 2001 and 2003 International Society of Bassists' Jazz Competition, and has appeared with Chico O'Farril, Billy Taylor, Diana Krall, and Ernie Watts. He is on the music faculty of Hunter College High School and New York University, and a New York Pops Teaching Artist.

Ms. Maricle is the founder The DIVA Jazz Orchestra, FIVE PLAY quintet and The DIVA Jazz Trio. She performs withthe New York Pops and serves as its Director of Education. She is a conductor for The New York Summer Festival. Ms. Maricle received The Kennedy Center's Mary Lou Williams Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009 and its Alliance Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Arts and a Doctoral Fellowship from New York University.
