LEGACY
October 3-5, 2013 • 7:30 pm
RDT begins our 48th season with a tribute to our dance legacy. The centerpiece for this stirring concert will be José Limón 's masterwork, "Missa Brevis." This monumental work is a memento to cities destroyed during World War II and to those unconquerable qualities in human beings that compel the spirit to rise in hope and to survive. The choreography features 22 dancers including RDT and guests from BYU Division of Dance who will perform to a powerful score by Zoltan Kodaly.

Also featured are "For Betty" by RDT Alumnus, Bill Evans and "Ariadne" by Ze'eva Cohen, both legacies in the history of RDT.

LIVELY
November 22-23, 2013 • 7:30 pm

The language of dance can communicate our most intimate thoughts and feelings and bring smiles, giggles and guffaws to lift our spirits. RDT provides the time and place for audiences of all ages to enjoy some choreography "on the lighter side."

RDT will offer this "gift" to the community as a lively way to usher in the holiday season. Pieces will include "Jukebox" by Bill Evans choreographed to the fun and lively music of Glen Miller as well as "Fin Amours" by Susan Hadley. Also returning is the audience favorite from last year, "Bolero" by Joanie Smith.

{LEVITY} Charette 2014
February 22, 2014 • 7:30 pm

RDT's annual fundraiser and choreographer competition, Charette, returns for the ninth consecutive year. Don't miss the madness as choreographers create new dances in record time! And as if the choreographers needed more to worry about, we're bringing back the added element of live music.

This one-night-only event must be seen to be believed. Celebrity judges and the audience will choose the winners! Bring your wallets for drinks, silent auction, and bribes. It's a performance, party, and fundraiser you can't miss!

VIP tickets are available again this year for $75 (or $58 for subscribers). This "VIP" ticket grants you an invitation to an exclusive pre-concert reception, free drinks throughout intermission, $15 in RDT Funny Money to bribe the judges, and more!

LAND
April 10-12, 2014 • 7:30 pm

"Once in his life a man...ought to give himself up to a particular landscape in his experience, to look at it from as many angles as he can, to wonder about it, to dwell upon it. He ought to imagine that he touches it with his hands at every season and listen to the sounds that are made upon it. He ought to imagine the creatures there and all the faintest motions of the wind. He ought to recollect the glare of noon and all the colors of the dawn and dusk." - Scott Momaday

For the final concert of the season, RDT continues to explore "a sense of place." Choreography by Molissa Fenley ("Desert Sea"), Zvi Gotheiner ("Erosion"), Joanie Smith ("Turf") and Ze'eva Cohen ("Rainwood") will pay tribute to the diverse landscapes surrounding us. Utah's red-rock sculptures, its wetlands, forests and mountains give inspiration to an unforgettable concert.
