Three-time Tony Award Nominee Judy Kuhn (Les Miserables, Chess. She Loves Me) will teach the first in a series of her ACTING THE SONG Vocal Performance Workshops on October 17th & 18th in NYC. Students will have the opportunity to work individually with Ms. Kuhn on songs of their own choosing. The focus of the class will be on interpretation and presentation with an emphasis on exploration and personalization of lyrics. The class will be held at the Pearl Studios 519 8th Ave, on Oct. 17th & 18th from 1-5PM. The fee for participants is $275 (with a $25 discount for those who register by October 1st). Students who wish to audit the class can do so for $25 per day. Actors and Singers of all levels of training and experience are welcome. To register send an email to masterclass@judykuhn.net.

In addition to her three Tony and Drama Desk Nominated performances in Chess, She Loves Me and Les Miserables, Kuhn has appeared in numerous other Broadway and Off Broadway shows including the original casts of Rags, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Richard Nelson's play Two Shakespearean Actors. She starred as Fosca in the critically acclaimed production of Stephen Sondheim's Passion at the Kennedy Center and was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance in Metropolis in London's West End. She sang the title role in Walt Disney's Pocahontas, and has appeared on concert and cabaret stages all over the world including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, The Royal Albert Hall in London, and in concert at The White House. In addition to her two solo recordings Serious Playground: The Songs of Laura Nyro and Just in Time: Judy Kuhn Sings Jule Styne, Judy can be heard on numerous original Cast Albums.

Ms. Kuhn has taught workshops for many years at The Michael Howard Studios and has held Master Classes at NYU/CAP 21, Rider University, Catholic University as well as many schools and theatres around the country. Composer and Lyricist Stephen Schwartz said of Judy, "I can't think of a more valuable teacher for anyone looking to learn the art of singing musical theatre."
