January 1 marks the start of a new year and ImprovBoston is starting the new year with big laughs. After a wildly successful debut in 2012, 100 New England comedians will be telling their first joke of the year over two shows at the theatre. The first show is at 7 p.m. and the second show is at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $10. ImprovBoston is located at 40 Prospect Street. Tickets are available online at www.improvboston.com.

The people who bring you ImprovBoston Presents, The People's Show and The Comedy Lottery have decided to go for broke after the ball drops, by assembling the Greater Boston Stand Up Community for the 100 first jokes of 2013. Each show will give 50 different comics the mic for 2 minutes or less for their first new -- never told before -- jokes of 2013.

The evening is hosted by ImprovBoston comics Dana Jay Bein and Matt D. The line-up includes Bethany Van Delft who has appeared at Just For Laughs; Dan Boulger who is a Boston Comedy Festival Winner and has appeared on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson; Kelly MacFarland who was an Audience Award Winner at the Rooftop Comedy Festival; and legendary Boston comedian Tony V.

"100 Jokes is a special show because there is no other like it in Boston. It's a great chance for people to check out the New England comedy scene and see some of the amazing local comedians that make up our community," said host Matt D.
