IN IT TOGETHER to be presented as Part of the Speak Up, Rise Up Festival

In It Together is a live true storytelling show hosted by Kevin Allison, who is best known for his work on the sketch comedy series The State on MTV and the RISK! podcast. The show will feature five performers sharing stories that highlight how they value their unique identity and, through it, find the power to affect change in their own lives, the lives of others, and the larger world.
With his writing and acting work on the legendary sketch comedy series The State on MTV, as well as Stella, Reno 911!, High Maintenance, the performance troupe Blue Man Group and more, Kevin Allison has created all kinds of stories. In 2009, Kevin created RISK!, the live show and audio podcast where people tell true stories they never thought they'd dare to share. The podcast is now downloaded over 2.5 million times per month.As the founder of The Story Studio, Kevin has coached bestselling authors, renowned comedians, and prominent teachers and executives from a wide range of fields.
The Story Studio is an organization dedicated to perfecting the art of telling true, personal stories. The school has trained dozens of award-winning storytellers, who have appeared on The Moth, This American Life, Snap Judgment and RISK!, as well as corporate clients such as as Pfizer, Citibank, GE, Google, Merck, Zendesk, American Express and USA Today.
Speak Up, Rise Up is a first year storytelling festival being held at the Connelly Theater from August 14th-20th with a focus on bringing traditional and non-traditional performers together. Our focus is to raise the profile of people and communities of stories we don't often hear. The idea is to bring together people's stories and put them, literally, on the big stage with other featured performances throughout the week.
