Academy Award-winning DREAMGIRLS actress and international recording star Jennifer Hudson appeared for a short arc on the second season of the recently-cancelled NBC musical drama series SMASH and a new deleted scene featuring Hudson alongside some of the show's stars has now been released in anticipation of the forthcoming Season Two DVD set being released next week.

"You've got a big career ahead of you as long as you don't blow it," Hudson tells troubled songwriter Jimmy (Jeremy Jordan) in the clip.

Later, Jimmy's best friend confides in Karen (Katharine McPhee), alerting her to the dangers ahead should she become involved with this potential paramour.

"He'll hurt you - he hurts everyone. I told you, Karen - you don't know him," Kyle (Andy Mientus) says in the new clip.

In addition to Hudson, Jordan and Mientus, S2 of SMASH also added Broadway regular Krysta Rodriguez to the main cast as well as featured cameo appearances by Liza Minnelli, Daniel Sunjata, Carolee Carmello, Nikki Blonsky, Jesse L. Martin, Julian Ovenden, Brian d'Arcy James and many more in addition to returning regulars Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Debra Messing, Christian Borle, Jack Davenport and Anjelica Huston.

SMASH Season Two will be released on DVD on August 6. For more information, visit the official Facebook page here.
