Tony, Emmy, Grammy, Pulitzer, Oliver and McArthur award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of Broadway's smash hit musical HAMILTON, will be honored on Wednesday, July 27th by receiving a star on the Puerto Rico Walk of Fame located on Ashford Ave., Condado. The ceremony will take place at 4:30pm.

Actor, composer and writer, Lin-Manuel broke into the scene when he wrote the music and lyrics of the musical "In the Heights", that opened in March of 2008 at the Richard Rodgers stage in Broadway and ran for 1,184 performances.

His work on that production earned him numerous recognitions among them a Tony award for Best Musical (2008) and a Grammy award for best musical album on 2009. His role as "Usnavi" as well was nominated for a Tony award for best leading actor in a musical.

Santiago Villar, Chairperson and Founder of the Puerto Rico Walk of Fame Inc., cordially invites the community to attend the plaque unveiling ceremony for this great stage, music and film talent, as he moves on to new projects including the upcoming sequel to the film "Mary Poppins".

"It comes as wonderful news to have the presence of Lin-Manuel Miranda on the Walk of Fame, an international artist that has made Puerto Rico immensely proud. Personally it is a joyful and great honor that he accepted our invitation to join us the day of the unveiling of his star", expressed Villar.

Miranda, born and raised in New York to Puerto Rican parents, finished on July 9th a successful run on Broadway as "Alexander Hamilton", in the Tony-award winning musical infused by hip hop, rhythm & blues, rap and pop. On separate projects, he is currently writing music for Disney's upcoming animated film "Moana", and just released a single song with Jennifer Lopez, "Love Make the World Go Round", to benefit the Hispanic Federation's "Somos Orlando" initiative.

The Puerto Rico Walk of Fame Inc, is a not-for-profit organization launched on December 21, 2015. Artists honored to date include Ricky Martin, Chayanne, Miriam Colón, Roselyn Sánchez, Lucecita Benítez, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Rafael Ithier and journalist María Celeste Arrarás.
