It's back to school time, Gleeks! Welcome to another year at McKinley High School - full of songs, drama, and more! Grab a slushie and prepare your best sixteen bars - school and glee club are back in session.

School has begun again at McKinley and Jacob Ben Israel is at it again - grilling the glee clubbers about where they stand - some have one more year, some have big dreams, but Finn has no idea what he wants. Unlike Rachel and Kurt, who seem to know exactly where they're going - Finn is struggling to find where he wants to go and be once high school is over. When Ms. Pillsbury informs Rachel and Kurt that their dream school of Julliard doesn't have musical theater, the diva duos begin to look at new options. During a coffee date, Kurt attempts to sway Blaine to join him at McKinley, but the Warbler is still reluctant.

Quinn has changed her image to that of a bad girl, dropping out of glee club and joining a crew known as "The Skanks". Despite Santana, Brittany, and Rachel's pleas, Quinn seems content on keeping her image as is. Mr. Schuester implements "The Purple Piano Project" - a project where purple pianos are placed all over, enticing the glee kids to perform and get new members. After putting up with the playing of one of the pianos, Sue goes on the war path in her congressional platform against the arts in high school.

During lunchtime, the glee kids perform the Go-Go's "We've Got The Beat" on one of the purple pianos, which leads to a large food fight.

The performance of "We've Got the Beat" inspires Sugar Motta, one of the wealthy girl in school, to audition - but her audition is atrocious. With things stacked against the arts, Will turns to Coach Bieste, who suggests Will take a direct approach at going after Sue, which he comes to realize is a good plan. Kurt and Rachel, in preparation for their New York school mixer, perform "The Wicked Witch Is Dead" to prove they have more than what it takes to get into the competitive program.

Sue and Cheerio co-captains Santana and Becky hold auditions for new Cheerios, but Will and Emma crash the auditions and give Sue a little taste of "a glitter bomb". Blaine shows up to McKinley and surprises Kurt with his transfer to McKinley, before "easing into New Directions" with a performance of Tom Jones's "It's Not Unusual".

Kurt and Rachel show up to the mixer and are tossed a dose of serious reality from a girl named Harmony and a gaggle of lookalike Kurts and Rachels performing "Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better".  After witnessing what they're up against, Kurt and Rachel throw a pity party, before realizing they need to step up their game, and they will fiercely succeed.

After shattering Sugar's dreams, Will welcomes Blaine officially to New Directions, and kicks Santana out for burning one of the purple pianos during Blaine's performance. Meanwhile, Rachel plots to get the school to produce a production of 'West Side Story', while Kurt begins on a political campaign for senior class president. Will informs the kids that despite everything, the music continues - and the kids take that to heart and perform "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray.

Gleeks, school is back in session and this is only the beginning! Where will the New Directions go from here? Will Quinn and Santana rejoin the ranks? We'll see! Grab a purple piano and I'll see you next week! Also - look out for the newest Gleek feature - a weekly post-episode poll! Vote and pick your favorite!
