DAMAGE CONTROL Reading to Star Jackie Hoffman, Nancy Opel, Stephen Buntrock and Jeffrey Schecter, 10/15
Ted Seifman Productions will present the industry reading of Damage Control, a new comedy by Douglas Braverman (author of Dalliance in Vienna and Snowman) and starring Jackie Hoffman, Nancy Opel, Stephen Buntrock, and Jeffrey Schecter, on Monday, October 15th, 1:30pm, at The Theatre at Sofia's, 221 West 46th Street, New York City. The production will be directed by Mark Waldrop.
Damage Control is about the glut of sex scandals in today's media...and the spin doctors who try to bury them. When a popular Christian televangelist is caught in a major sex scandal, the Jewish public relations man hired to whitewash the story thinks that the job will be an easy one...until a non-stop barrage of outrageous new details repeatedly threatens his cover up.
The production team includes director Mark Waldrop (Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends, 2002 Tony nomination for Unique Theatrical Event; When Pigs Fly, 1997 Drama Desk Award, Outer Critic's Circle Award, OBIE) and General Management by Brierpatch Productions (Laura Janik Cronin/Scott Newsome).
The cast features Jackie Hoffman (The Addams Family, Xanadu, Hairspray); Nancy Opel (Memphis, Fiddler on the Roof, Urinetown, SUNDAY IN THE Park with George); Stephen Buntrock (A Little Night Music, Grease, Oklahoma!, Jane Eyre, Beauty and the Beast); Jeffrey Schecter (Nice Work If You Can Get it, The People in the Picture, Anything Goes, Beauty and the Beast); Melinda Tanner (The Robber Bridegroom); Lori Gardner (Blame it on Beckett, The Deep-throat Sex Scandal); Steven Hauck (Irene's Vow); Sean Bell (Camelot); Danielle Faitelson (A Midsummer Night's Dream); and Fred Parker, Jr. (Gore Vidal's The Best Man).
The industry reading will be produced at The Theatre at Sofia's, 221 West 46th Street on Monday, October 15th at 1:30pm – ONE PRESENTATION ONLY. For more information, contact DamageControl@BrierpatchProductions.com.
