Holiday Jubilee 2013, Crossroads Theatre Company's fourth annual multicultural celebration for all ages, will herald the spirit of the season with song, dance and a lively helping of audience participation, today, December 5-15, with performances Thursdays through Sundays.

As in past years, Holiday Jubilee 2013 offers free onstage seating for children under 12, with one child admitted free per adult admission. Tickets for regular seats are $40 for adults and $20 for students and children under 12. The theater is located at 7 Livingston Ave.

Directed by Rick Sordelet, the renowned Broadway fight director, Holiday Jubilee 2013 will feature a cast of seasoned professionals accompanied by talented young artists from the Body and Music School of Performing Arts, (BAM), which is in residence at Crossroads Theatre. The setting is a fictional PTA meeting that engages the audience as participants as well as observers.

This year's production features the music of Motown and traditional favorites from holidays and festivals around the world, including Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa and Diwali-Incwala.

"Holiday Jubilee is a Crossroads original that re-envisions the usual holiday fare, bringing our diverse communities together to share and celebrate their unique traditions through music and dance," said Marshall Jones III, Crossroads' producing artistic director. "The creative, collective energy of the artists always makes Holiday Jubilee an audience pleaser."

"Each successive year, we've kept Holiday Jubilee's appealing qualities - great songs, dance, and conviviality - that make this a show for all ages," said Sordelet, who has directed Holiday Jubilee since its first production.

The cast includes returning performers Stephen Agosto, Jason Barrameda, Aaron Boykin, Martin Carpenter, Shannon DeVido, Jeanel LeBlanc, and Lori Tishfield.

Joining the cast this year are Chris Flowers, Lena Grotticelli, Leah Joy, Kathleen Kelly, and Eeftu Yakub. Gail Lou returns as musical director.

Founded in 1978 by Ricardo Khan and L. Kenneth Richardson, Crossroads Theatre Company embraces the vision that African-American theater is intended for a broad-based, diverse audience. As a major force in the development of new ideas and the introduction of formerly marginalized writers, Crossroads produces works that enrich and diversify the representation of African American culture on the American stage.
