In a world where Tweets, Vines, GIFs, Instagrams and Facebook posts Reign supreme, so too does Comedy Central's new late-night talk show/comedy competition, "@midnight."

In its first week of episodes, "@midnight," hosted by Chris Hardwick and produced by Funny Or Die, proved to be a huge success among Comedy Central's target audience of
young men, registering the youngest median age (33) of all late-night talk shows, both broadcast and cable, and is on track to come in behind only "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" as the most-watched late-night talk show among Men 18-34 and Men 18-24 once Nielsen releases late-night program ratings for the week of October 21, topping "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Late Night with David Letterman, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Conan," along with the rest of the field. (see charts in attachment)

In the cable landscape, Comedy Central was home to the Top 3 late-night talk shows among the key Adults 18-49 demographic for the week, as "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "The Colbert Report" and "@midnight" finished #1, #2 and #3 for the week beating "Conan," "Chelsea Lately," "Watch What Happens Live" and "Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell."

On the social front, the show built around social has hit the ground running finishing as the top-ranked entertainment series on SocialGuide's Late Fringe for four of its first six episodes. The series has also established a footprint on Twitter with its signature segment, "#HashtagWars," which has generated Trending Topics during each of its first six episodes, including some internationally. #FilmPoops, #SluttyMusicals, #BadCereals, #FatTVShows, #SpookyCelebs and #LameComicBookCharacters, all played out to great comic effect both during the show and after on Twitter by social media stars who have played along including Ellen Page, Michael Chiklis, Marc Maron, Patton Oswalt, John Hodgman, Paul F. Tompkins, Buzz Aldrin, Wil Wheaton and The Iron Sheik, creating an "@midnight" social echo of over 415,000,000 impressions.

"@midnight" leads viewers down the ultimate internet wormhole with a rotating lineup of today's top comedians battling nightly to determine who has the funniest take on the day's social media and pop culture happenings and wear the crown of funniest person on Earth (for the next 23 ½ hours). Using social media as the catalyst and a fake game show as the setting, "@midnight" challenges comedians to prove who's the funniest by slashing the craziest, most absurd news and post that social media has to offer: from celebrity Twitter tantrums to the most bizarre Yahoo Answers to rich kids on Instagram.
