BroadwayWorld reported earlier today that Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions announced that two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Something Rotten, Peter and the Starcatcher) will originate the role of Willy Wonka in the Broadway premiere of Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY which begins performances in March 2017.

Once the news broke, some fans were worried that this role would be conflicting with his part in FALSETTOS, which was announced last month. But don't fear! BroadwayWorld has just confirmed that he will be in both productions. A FALSETTOS rep has confirmed that the show is currently scheduled through, January 8, so Borle's run will not be cut short by CHOCOLATE FACTORY.

Congrats to Christian for landing the two amazing roles!

FALSETTOS, which won two Tony Awards for its score by William Finn and book by William Finn and James Lapine, combines the duo's 1981 musical March of theFalsettos with their 1990 sequel Falsettoland, to tell the story of a gay man named Marvin (to be played by Christian Borle), his lover Whizzer (to be played by Andrew Rannells), Marvin's wife Trina (to be played by Stephanie J. Block), and their extended family from the early '80s through the early days of the AIDS crisis.

Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY has music by Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award winners Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, a book by Artistic Director of Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum theatre David Greig, choreography by Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Joshua Bergasse, and is directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien.
