The American National Theatre (ANT) (Sean Cullen, Founder and Producing Artistic Director, THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE!, NBC, 2013, GOLDEN BOY, BELASCO, 2013, BOARDWALK EMPIRE, HBO, 2013) will host "The ANT, Made & Played in America" on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th St., New York, NY).

Tony-nominee Kathleen Chalfant (TALES FROM RED VIENNA, MTC, 2014, HOUSE OF CARDS, NETFLIX, 2013, SOMEWHERE FUN, VINEYARD, 2013) and Tony-winner Christian Borle (THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE!, NBC, 2013, SMASH, NBC, 2013, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, Brooks Atkinson, 2012 ) are the Honorary Co-Chairs of the event, which will begin with live music, cocktails, and hors d'ouevres at 6PM, followed by the "The ANT, Made & Played in America" program at 7PM, and continue with cocktails and dessert until 8PM.

The program will showcase scenes and monologues from Mark Harelik'S plays, THE IMMIGRANT and THE LEGACY, which The American National Theatre plans for its 2014 Inaugural Productions, in repertory, with the same core cast: Kathleen Chalfant, Jacqueline Antaramian, Richard Topol, and Russell POSNER - who will also appear on January 13th. Tony-nominee Randal Myler, the director of the Denver Center Theatre Company's world premier, is slated to direct THE IMMIGRANT. Laird Williamson, the director of the Old Globe Theatre world premier, will direct THE LEGACY.

"The ANT, Made in America" program is inspired by The American National Theatre mission: To identify and present distinguished new American plays and musicals with their original companies and creative teams at a major theatre venue in New York.

"Mark Harelik's THE IMMIGRANT and THE LEGACY are outstanding plays and incredibly timely, given the current U.S. immigration policy debate, and the ever-enduring importance of family in our lives. Mark is a first-rate theatre artist, acclaimed actor (GETTING ON, HBO, 2013), and playwright. The ANT is proud to present his plays in New York for the first time.

The ANT will continue to bring entire productions of exciting new American plays and musicals, from theatres across the United States. We're grateful to the great Kathleen Chalfant and Christian Borle for their Co-Chairing, and to the legendary Algonquin Hotel for hosting 'The ANT, Made & Played in America.'"
