UPI reports that while promoting her latest film appearance, the Robin Williams comedy film "R.V." Kristin Chenoweth told reporters that she's hoping to return to Broadway in the stage adaption of Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein. Noting that stage work was her first love, Chenoweth also noted that "Betty Boop" as well as starring in The Apple Tree were additional possibilities. About her stage work, she tells the UPI that "There's nothing better than having that audience and creating something new or reviving something that's been done and putting your own spin on it and touching people in a live way."

Chenoweth has fast become a crossover Broadway star, with numerous films set to open this year. The star
, who was nominated for a Tony for her performance as Glinda in Wicked and who won for her Sally Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, has also appeared in Scapin, A New Brain, Steel Pier, Epic Proportions, in the Lincoln Center concert production of Candide, and the Encores! productions of Strike Up the Band, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and The Apple Tree (rumor has attached her to a possible Broadway transfer of the latter). As I Am and Let Yourself Go are her two solo CDs; the latter is a collection of theatre music while the former focuses on spiritual songs. Her upcoming films include R.V., Running With Scissors, Stranger Than Fiction and Asphalt Beach; she was also seen in Bewitched and The Pink Panther. Chenoweth plays Annabeth Schott on TV's "The West Wing."
