Four theatre veterans will take part in a reading of Sybille Pearson's play Next, which will take place at the Barrington Stage Company's Berkshire Athenaeum in Pittsfield, MA on August 28th.

Directed by Michael Perreca, the reading will star Kathleen Chalfant (Tony-nominee for Angels in America: Millenium Approaches), Joy Franz (Into the Woods), Myra Lucretia Taylor (Nine) and Virginia Wing (America Dreaming).  "Meet Lila, Diana, Carlotta and Ann — four friends who face the aging process with grace, gusto and guts," state press notes.  Next, "profiles four unforgettable ladies as they meet in Manhattan's Riverside Drive Park over the course of five months, (to) discuss success, love and life."

Pearson received a 1984 Tony nomination for penning the book to the musical Baby.  Other plays include Unfinished Stories and Sally and Marsha.

The Berkshire Athenaeum is located at 1 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield, MA.  A $10 donation is suggested for the reading. For more information, visit www.barringtonstageco.org.
