As we come to the beginning of October, I hope you are planning on attending a couple of the live performance and theatre productions currently running at any number of the several live entertainment establishments that make their homes here on the beautiful California Central Coast!

Sorcerer Productions (https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Sorcerer-Productions/105954829426281) is proud to present Arsenic and Old Lace through October 23 in the Clark Center Studio Theatre in Arroyo Grande.

When Mortimer Brewster returns to the family home, we meet his charming and innocent spinster aunts - who have taken to murdering lonely old men.

Add in a brother who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt and digs locks for the Panama Canal in the basement, and another brother who has received plastic surgery and now looks like Boris Karloff, and you'll have a recipe for a delightfully macabre evening of entertainment.

Rush tickets for this wonderful production are only $20!!!  This is the first non-musical presentation from Sorcerer Productions and it is going to be fantastic!  Just mention the code "Theater League" at the box office 20 minutes prior to curtain to receive the discount.  Tell your friends!

Other upcoming performances at the Clark Center (www.clarkcenter.org) include America the Beautiful presented by Central Coast Follies through October 9, the Kingston Trio on October 9 (good luck getting a ticket for this one!), and the Irish music ensemble Cherish the Ladies on October 14.

SLO Little Theatre (www.slolittletheatre.org) is pleased to announce its next main stage production, Oklahoma, through November 6.  Auditions for A Christmas Story will be held October 10 & 11 (performances December 2-23).  Auditions for ACT's (Academy of Creative Theatre) The Little Prince will be October 13 & 14 (by appointment) for boys & girls, ages 9-18.  Call (805) 781-3889 X14 for more information.  Performances will be January 13-29.

The God Is Still Speaking Players (https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/92718528887) was proud to present Sister Amnesia's Country Western Nunsense Jamboree last month.  Next up?  "Celebration In Song" - a musical variety show, November 19 & 20 at 2 PM, to benefit the good works of GALA and PFLAG here on the Central Coast.

Kelrik Productions' (www.kelrikproductions.com) was pleased to present From Main Street to 42nd Street in August, featuring Jacque Carnahan.  Stay tuned for what's next (I'm hearing rumblings about productions of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Avenue Q)!

Upcoming performances at the Cal Poly Performing Arts Center (www.pacslo.org) include Kenny Endo and On Ensemble: Taiko 2.0 on October 14, The MET Live in HD: Donizzeti's Anna Bolena on October 15 (Cohan Center) and AXIS Dance Company on October 15 (Spanos Theatre).

Murder In Mind Productions (www.murderinmind.com) will present The Addams Family Reunion through November 6 at The Spyglass Inn in Shell Beach [NOTE: Saw the Oct 2 performance - FUN!].

The Great American Melodrama (www.americanmelodrama.com) is pleased to present The Werewolf of Dr. Oz through November 13.  This production is, of course, followed by an all new high energy Vaudeville Revue - which many theatre patrons insist is worth the price of admission!

The Santa Maria Civic Theatre (www.smct.org) will present It's A Wonderful Life: Radio Play November 18 - December 10.

The Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (www.pcpa.org), the Central Coast's Resident Professional Theatre Company, located on the Allan Hancock College Campus in Santa Maria, is proud to present A Christmas Carol - the musical, November 10 - December 23.

The Lompoc Civic Theatre's (www.lompoccivictheatre.com) will hold auditions October 10 & 11 for 2 holiday one act plays: The Cowhand's Christmas Carol and Not on This Night.

The Theatre at the Old Grammar School in Cambria (TOGS) (http://artistsofcambria.com/cambriapac/id4.html) and Allied Arts Theatre will present Dearly Departed October 21 - November 20.

The Pewter Plough Playhouse (www.pewterploughplayhouse.org) will present A.R. Gurney's The Fourth Wall through October 30.

So, regardless of what else you may have on your calendar in the next week or two, I trust you will want to include going to see at least one or two of the theatre and live performance presentations being offered for your viewing pleasure here in this amazing place we call the Central Coast of California!
