According to TV Guide's website, Bryan Batt may be returning to AMC's "Mad Men," as artistic director Salvatore Romano on the Emmy-winning show. According to William Keck, Batt's spirits were up and he was back with the cast at the Emmy Awards.

Batt received a call a few months ago from series creator Matthew Weiner letting him know that Sal is not dead, according to the article. Batt couldn't and wouldn't say more on the subject.
Last year, Batt left the show due to the story line, after his character irritated the firm's top client, Lucky Strike.

The cast of the show is currently filming its season finale, though Batt was all secrets about whether or not he'd be in the episode.

According to the article, Weiner said, "Yes, Sal is alive. There's hope, but you have to watch the show. You know I'm not going to say anything."

As a Broadway veteran, his leading and principal roles include: 2005 revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL, SUNSET BLVD, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, STARLIGHT EXPRESS, and CATS. Off Broadway: Forbidden Broadway(Drama Desk Nomination). Theatrically, Bryan is most proud of originating the role of DARIUS in both the N.Y. and L.A (Drama Logue Award) productions as well as the film adaptation of Paul Rudnick's ground breaking comedy JEFFREY.

"Mad Men" burst onto the scene when it debuted on AMC in July 2007 and quickly became one of the most talked about series on television. Set in 1960s New York, "Mad Men" is a sexy and provocative original drama that follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising. The series has made history as the first basic cable series ever to win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, and back-to-back Golden Globes for Best Television Series Drama. The award-winning ensemble includes: Golden Globe-winner Jon Hamm, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, Christina Hendricks, and John Slattery and guest stars legendary stage and screen actor Robert Morse.
