City Reliquary in Williamsburg continues its eclectic outdoor summer schedule this week with a film series, cartoons and bio-art, all in their backyard garden. On August 19th they will show Made in New York Web Film Series, a series that highlights three award-winning NYC-based web comedies with a Q & A panel with their creators. On August 20th Tommy Stathes Cartoon Carnival, will feature nearly two hours of cartoons from the 1920s to the 1940s. August 25th, local artist Henry G. Sanchez will present The English Kills Project, a socially engaged, bio-art project. Inside, the museum continues to host Sonic City, which boasts an impressive display of instruments made in the New York area. The Sonic City collection showcases instrument makers who have worked with famous acts such as Paul Simon, Prince, WILCO, and Metallica.

The Made in New York Web Film Series includes a panel of the creators of three award-winning NYC-based web comedies: Other People's Kids, Hey Yun, and [Blank] my life. Other People's Kids reflects fictional NYC families through the eyes of their baby sitters. This comic drama explores class relations, parenting, family dynamics, and the lives of kids. Hey Yun is about an angry, whimsical Korean woman who travels throughout NYC in fits of rage, insight, and wild ambition. Its creator, Hye Yun Park, has been called "the Asian-American Louis C.K." [Blank] my life follows the fictional character Susan as she tries to stay alive while navigating the NYC dating scene. Beverages will be available on a donation basis, with beer from the Brooklyn Brewery. August 19th, 7pm, tickets $10.

Tommy Stathes Cartoon Carnival: #47 Summer Travels is the latest installment of Cartoons on Film featuring two hours of cartoons from the 1920's and the 1940s, in all of their wacky glory. Reminisce with cartoon friends from decades past about their wayward travels across the globe by land, sea and air. August 20th, doors 8pm, tickets are $10.

The bio-art project, The English Kills Project, presents new concepts for constructed wetlands and mussel habitats for Newtown Creek in Brooklyn, a Superfund site. Artist Henry G. Sanchez will show videos of the ecosystems of NYC's most polluted waterway and invite participants to draft designs for constructed wetlands. This project is in collaboration with Newton Creek Alliance, and experiments with bio-remediation for the English Kills Tributary located in the Bushwick/East Williamsburg neighborhood. Thursday, August 25th, 7pm, free. The Reliquary will provide beverages on a donation basis, with beer from the Brooklyn Brewery. There will be post show drinks and discussion at Woodhul Wine Bar.
