Brooklyn Chamber Relaunches Brooklyn Eats

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce has announced that Brooklyn Eats will return on June 26 at 630 Flushing Avenue in South Williamsburg. Brooklyn Eats, originally a restaurant food-tasting event, has been relaunched this year as the borough's first Fancy Food-style trade show, supporting manufacturers in an effort to create a Brooklyn-wide community of food producers.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses that make something in Brooklyn to participate and showcase themselves to a larger audience," said Carlo A. Scissura, President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. "It is also a chance for restaurants in the borough - and across New York City and the region - to see, and ultimately buy, products that are made in Brooklyn. We all know that the Brooklyn brand is very hot at the moment and we want everyone to know about it!"

Brooklyn Eats first began in 1997 as a showcase for 20 borough-based restaurants. By 2004, the event grew to feature 68 Brooklyn restaurants offering tastes of their signature dishes.

As part of the rebranding effort, the Chamber has set up a new logo and website at www.brooklyneats.com, where food vendors can download an application form and learn more about the show. The Chamber welcomes vendor participation from all Brooklyn-based manufacturers and businesses that are involved in packaging and distributing at least one Made-in-Brooklyn product.

In addition, the Chamber welcomes buyers, restaurant/hospitality company representatives, and curious consumers to enjoy the tastes of Brooklyn, meet food manufacturers, and enjoy a variety of programming over the course of the day-long event.

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, New York City's largest Chamber with over 1,100 members, was established in 1918. It is a community that supports and advocates for its member businesses. Our mission is to promote a healthy and robust business environment throughout Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is the foremost resource for doing business in Brooklyn and works to support and promote a vibrant local economy.
