John Jeffrey Martin, recent star of the National Tour of Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, will play an evening of a "covers mixed with his dynamic original tunes" at downtown hot spot The Delancey on Tuesday, September 8th starting at 8pm.

The actor played the leading role of "Troy Bolton" in the National Tour of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL for nearly two years, recreating on stage the character made famous on screen by heartthrob Zac Efron.

Martin commented about his solo concert work on his website, stating, "I bought my first guitar when I graduated college, and started writing songs soon after. I have a band called Prism Perspective, its a solo band, although I have had friends collaborate with me. Been playing gigs in NYC once a month since September 2001. Most of my gigs were at CB's 313 gallery. Recently started writing songs on the piano, someday I will hatch my songwriting into rock musical theatre shows."

John Jeffrey Martin has appeared on Broadway in Hairspray (as understudy and replacement as Fender, Corny Collins and Link Larkin), Good Vibrations (in ensemble, as Country Dude and Surfer Guy, and understudy Dave) and The Rocky Horror Show (as understudy and as replacement for Brad Majors). He can also be seen in Julie Taymor's film "Across The Universe."

The cover for the concert is $8, doors open at 7:30pm. For more information on John Jeffrey Martin visit, www.johnjeffreymartin.com.

The Delancey is located at 168 Delancey St., New York, NY 10002-3490, (212) 254-9920.
