BroadwayGirlNYC - Sing Out, Louise: Broadway Karaoke

It's a great American pastime, even if it originated in Japan... Karaoke, that is! What's better than grabbing a mic and having your moment in the spotlight?! Whether you're a seasoned pro, an amateur who knows her way around a microphone, or a fan who generally only sings in the shower... karaoke is a great way to feel the delicious heat of the spotlight and the cheers of an adoring crowd, without the pressure of forgetting lines, winning a callback or landing a job.

While my friends are taking turns belting out "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," "Baby Got Back" and "Eye of the Tiger," I take my moment to return to my roots as a musical theatre performer, swallow my stage fright, and belt out my favorite show tunes. I may not be a Broadway star, but somehow singing a song to a prerecorded track in a dark bar makes me feel like one.
