Broadway Favorites in the Running for Tonight's GOLDEN GLOBES - Who Will You Be Rooting For?

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and dick clark productions (dcp) will present the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards tonight, Sunday, January 11, 2015. Hosted by Golden Globe Award winners Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the third year in a row, the ceremony will air on NBC live coast-to-coast from 5-8 p.m. (PT) and 8-11 p.m. (ET) from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.

Below, check out the rundown of Broadway stars and theater-related nominees hoping to receive one of Hollywood's most distinguished awards this evening. Who will you be rooting for?

The Broadway-themed BIRDMAN received multiple nominations this year including one for Michael Keaton as Best Actor, and a nod for Best Motion Picture, comedy or musical. The film will compete against Rob Marshall's INTO THE WOODS, based on the Stephen Sondheim classic, as well as "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "Pride" and "St. Vincent."

HBO's adaptation of THE NORMAL HEART, based on Larry Kramer's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, received nods for Best TV mini-series, and Tony nominee Mark Ruffalo (Awake and Sing) for Best Performance by an Actor. Ruffalo also picked up a nom for his work in "Foxcatcher." NORMAL HEART's Matt Bomer will vie for Best Performance by a Supporting Actor, against CABARET's Alan Cumming.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, who recently made her Broadway debut in THE REAL THING, received a nomination for Best Actress for her work in "The Honorable Woman". She will compete in the category against Jessica Lange, France McDormand, Allison Tolman and Frances O'Connor.

In the heated race for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, INTO THE WOODS' Meryl Streep will compete against Jessica Chastain (Broadway's THE HEIRESS) for "A Most Violent Year", "The Imitation Game"s Keira Knightley (soon to make her Broadway debut next season in THERESE RAQUIN) and CABARET's newest Sally Bowles, Emma Stone for "Birdman."

In the category of Best Performance by an Actress Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, Amy Adams received a nod along with 'Woods' star Emily Blunt, "THE AUDIENCE's Helen Mirren for "The Hundred-Foot Journey", Julianne Moore for "Maps To the Stars" and Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis, who takes on the iconic role of Annie in the recent remake. ANNIE also received a nod for Best Original Song-Motion Picture for Sia's "Opportunity."

The Best Actor in a Motion Picture drama category includes Benedict Cumberbatch for "The Imitation Game", "Nightcrawler's" Jake Gyllenhaal, (starring in Broadway's CCONSTELLATIONS), "Les Mis" star and Tony winner Eddie Redmayne for "The Theory of Everything", Tony winner Ralph Fiennes (Hamlet) for "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Foxcatcher's Steve Carell.

Best Performance by an Actress in a TV drama series will feature Claire Danes (Pygmalion) for "Homeland", two-time Tony winner Viola Davis (Fences) for "How to Get Away With Murder", "The Affairs" Ruth Wilson, who makes her Broadway debut opposite Gyllenhaal in CONSTELLATIONS, and Robin Wright, for "House of Cards."

In the category of Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture made for Television, two-time Tony winner and "Mom" star Allison Janney (Broadway's 9 TO 5) goes head to head with Tony nominee and "American Horror Story" star Kathy Bates, GODSPELL's Uzo Aduba for "Orange Is the New Black" and "Downton Abbey"s Joanne Froggatt.

Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a motion picture includes Tony nominee Ethan Hawke (Macbeth) for "Boyhood", Tony nominee Mark Ruffalo for "Foxcatcher", Robert Duvall for "The Judge" , Edward Norton for "Birdman" and J.K. Simmons for "Whiplash."

Best Performance by an Actor in a television drama includes Tony winner Liev Schrieber (Glengarry Glen Ross) for "Ray Donovan", Tony winner Kevin Spacey (A Moon for the Misbegotten) for "House of Cards" and James Spader (Race) for "The Blacklist". The Broadway vets will compete against Clive Owen for "The Knock" and Dominic West for "The Affair."
