Bonds, Sullivan, Etc. Set for NYMF's Cumberland Blues

D. B. Bonds, Patrick Ryan Sullivan, Cara Cooper, Kathy Dietch and more will star in Cumberland Blues, playing as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) on September 22nd at 1 PM and 5 PM at the Theatre at St. Clements (423 W. 46th St.).

Presented by NYMF, The Carousel Dinner Theatre and The National Musical Theatre Network, the show will feature Bonds (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables) as "Peter Jones Jr., the estranged son of Peter Jones, who upon entering town won a mining claim during a poker match many years ago. Now conflicted with Black Lung Disease, Jones Sr. unable to decide which of his two sons should take over, leaves all ownership to be settled in an all night, winner-take-all poker game open to all family and employees associated with the business, including Jesse Steel who lost the mine to Jones Sr.," according to notes on the show. 

Cumberland Blues will also star Sullivan (42nd Street, Beauty and the Beast) as Peter Jones, Jeff Williams (The Music Man, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Jesse, Cara Cooper (The Wedding Singer, Urban Cowboy) as Mindy, Kathy Deitch (Wicked, Footloose), Scott Richard Foster (Brooklyn) as Eaves, as well as Gina Milo (Les Miserables) and Renee Lawless-Orsini (Beauty and the Beast).  

Completing the cast are Kayce Glasse (Glendine), Michael Minarick (Mick Jones), Lance Olds (Edgar Steele), Jerry McGonigle (Doc Pierce), David Ables (Ables/Ensemble), Sky Seals (Baker), Robert Koutras (Freeze), Elisa Winter (Ensemble) and Gerti Lee James (Ensemble).

The show, produced by Joe Palmer and the Carousel Dinner Theatre (Akron, Ohio) and the National Musical Theatre Network, originally played before a preview audience at the Carousel Dinner Theatre in February of 2005. Carousel's Artistic Director Sean Cercone will direct the festival's production.
