BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge was thrilled to sit down and speak with nearly all of this year's Tony Award nominees at the official Tony Brunch on May 2, 2012, and we will be bringing you special coverage on all of them throughout the awards season.  Today we bring you Alan Menken and Jack Feldman, co-nominees for Best Original Score for Newsies.

Together, Menken and Feldman composed the original 1992 film version of Newsies and have collaborated on updating the Tony-nomiated stage version.

Alan Menken is currently represented on Broadway with three productions - Newsies, Siser Act and Leap of Faith - and boasts nineteen oscar nominations and eight wins. He is perhaps best know for scoring Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Home on the Range, The Shaggy Dog, Enchanted, and most recently, Tangled.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
