Mix in get-out-of-your seat dancing and flashy sequin costumes -combine with the message of love and acceptance - and you have the Broadway musical, Kinky Boots. The warm-hearted, hilarious show opened at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester, Massachusetts and it received a high heeled kick of approval from the audience.

Meet Lola (J. Harrison Ghee), a drag queen with the voice of a fierce fighter, and the soul of a compassionate lover. When she's in the market for some new sexy stilettos - red of course - she meets Charlie Price (Adam Kaplan), a young shoemaker who is being swallowed up in the debt of his failing family business.

The two form an unlikely friendship and work together to create the hottest high heeled boots in town for drag queens, and stop at nothing to get them seen on the runways of Milan - even if that means all men involved (drags or not) sport the glitzy heels themselves.

While the tale is musically fun (thanks to Cyndi Lauper) and sometimes downright raunchy, it's also heartwarming with a gentleness sewn in there that reaches deep inside you and pulls out a new appreciation for those around you.

The Hanover Theatre and Kinky Boots also teamed up to work with the Adopt-A-School Program, to help underprivileged high schools discover an appreciation for live theatre. In the lobby of the theatre, drawings from the students - boots of course - are strung up for view for messages of appreciation, love, and acceptance of all.

Kinky Boots is now on stage at The Hanover Theatre from now until December 4th.
