Happy belated Holidays! We've just spent the last few weeks celebrating with loved ones. It's that time of year when we all return home to spend time with our families. Our lovely, beautiful, crazy families. Well, we feel you! If you've seen YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, then you know Kaufman & Hart created the original Modern Family when they wrote the story of the Sycamores.

YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU is a very big show. Rarely do you see a modern play with a cast this size. It's almost like a musical. And it's important to remember that whenever you are watching the actors ONstage, there are always a number of us OFFstage. And we need something to do until we come back on. Which is where these blog posts come in..

When we started rehearsals back in July, it quickly became clear to me that every person in this cast is as screwy as the Sycamore family. They all have bizarre obsessions, strange hobbies and crazy quirks that you would never imagine when you see them up onstage. So I decided to chronicle our backstage life at the Longacre Theater. I've created a number of short films about our strange little family. I call it the I'M A SYCAMORE series.

I'll post a lot of these in the coming weeks. But let's start things off with one of the most recent episodes, starring our own Byron Jennings. Byron plays "Mr. Kirby" and he has a strange secret that he wants to share with you.
