Chuck Singleton, general manager of WFUV, New York (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) has announced the appointment of Alexis Harrigan as Director of Development. Drawing on the resources of Fordham University's Development Department, Harrigan will design and execute a major gifts fundraising strategy aligned with the station's priorities.

A native of Washington, DC, Harrigan comes to WFUV from the Menil Collection, a visual arts museum in Houston, where she served as Interim Director of Advancement and Director of Development. She has also worked for Community Counselling Service, a fundraising consulting firm, and PeacePlayers International, a non-profit organization bringing together children from communities in conflict around the world to play basketball. She studied art history at Colgate University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has an MBA from Trinity College, Dublin.

"Alexis is uniquely qualified for this position," said Singleton, "not just because of her 14 years of fundraising experience, but also her passion for music and belief in the values of public radio."

"Discovering WFUV has been one of the high points of moving back to the Northeast," added Harrigan. "I'm excited to work with the excellent staffs at both WFUV and Fordham, as well as the WFUV Advisory Board, to help this incredible radio station achieve its ambitious goals."
