A pre-Tonys slugfest will have top theatre critics and journalists discussing the outcome of the awards.

The event, which will be held at New York University Midtown on May 23rd from 7 PM to 8:30 PM, will feature a number of GoldDerby.com cognoscenti--among them Michael Reidel of The New York Post, Mike Kuchwara of The Associated Press, Elysa Gardner of USA Today, Susan Haskins of Theater Talk, Melissa Bernardo of Entertainment Weekly, David Sheward of Backstage, Patrick Pacheco of Show People, and GoldDerby.com host Tom O'Neil of In Touch Weekly.
The discussion will be moderated and hosted by New York University professor Michael Zam.

GoldDerby.com is the entertainment world equivalent of a racetrack. According to the website, GoldDerby.com "is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to the serious study of entertainment awards — how Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, Tonys and Golden Globes work, how they differ, who's won in years past and who'll win in the future. Participants include more than 45 journalists from such leading media as the Associated Press, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, People, Us Weekly, In Touch, Soap Opera Weekly, Soap Opera Digest, The New York Post, Newsday, Hollywood Reporter, Backstage and Soapnet.com."

The Tony Awards will be held on June 5th at Radio City Music Hall at 8 PM; the ceremony will be broadcast on CBS.

While admission to the slugfest is free, reservations are required. RSVP via e-mail to News@GoldDerby.com.

New York University Midtown is located at 11 West 42nd Street, 4th floor.
