21st Annual Sedona International Film Festival Director's and Audience Choice Awards Announced

Till Then (Bis Gleich), a 21-minute narrative short film capturing the unspoken connection between two elderly neighbors who share a daily ritual - but never actually met - that deepens when they face the inevitable together, won both the Director's Choice and Audience Choice Awards at the 21st annual Sedona International Film Festival.

The 10-day Festival, dedicated to Orson Welles during the year of his 100th birthday, concluded Sunday night with John Waters' one-man show and retrospective, This Filthy World. Festival winners were announced by Executive Director Patrick Schweiss during Sunday morning's annual Awards Brunch.

Director's Choice honorees included Copenhagen, Best Feature - Drama, and Frank Vs. God, Best Feature - Comedy. Keep on Keepin' On captured the Marion Herrman Excellence in Filmmaking Award, named in honor of the long-time Festival board member who passed away in 2012. Diplomacy won the Bill Muller Excellence in Screenwriting Award. The award is named for former Arizona Republic film critic Bill Muller, who died in 2007.

Keep on Keepin' On also picked up the Audience Choice Award for Best Documentary in a tie with Capturing Grace.

Highlighting this year's festival was a series of screenings and retrospectives of Welles' work coordinated by his daughter, Beatrice, who lives part-time in Sedona. The Festival offered 165 films from World Cinema to Documentaries that Make a Difference and from Sedona Green to Family Films and Classics.
