As Elder McKinley in the BOOK OF MORMON, Daxton Bloomquist might spend his nights trying to "turn it off," but fortunately for us the very talented and funny actor felt no need to suppress his responses to 10 on Tuesday. Here's what he had to say:

1) Show you first auditioned for (and did you get the part)? The first non-professional role was for a middle school production of the musical "YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN." I was cast as Linus! Professionally, I believe it was the national tour for WEST SIDE STORY and I did not get the part. I think I auditioned 12 times!

2) Where are you originally from? Originally from a small town in Kansas called El Dorado.

3) When did you know you wanted a career on the stage? I think my senior year of high school is when I realized you could actually work on stage as career, before that I thought it was a fun hobby!

4) What's your dream role/production? I would love to create a role! (And also, who doesn't want to be in WICKED?)

5) Favorite post-performance haunt? My couch, with my dog and some wine!

6) Living or dead, who would you drop everything to see perform? Whitney Houston.

7) What's your guilty pleasure/vice? Chocolate Chip Cookies! AHHHHHH!

8) What do you value most about acting? The ability to bring self into a character you never thought you could relate with!

9) What is the one song you never want to hear sing again at an audition? I don't think there is a song I wouldn't want to hear again, everyone should bring his or her own take on a song, which in turn should make it unique and interesting to watch and listen to!

10) Fill in the blank: "The thing I'd never change about theatre is ... " The ambiance!

THE BOOK OF MORMON runs through Aug. 14 at the PrivateBank Theatre, 18 W. Monroe. Tickets, $45-$120. 800.775.2000. www.bookofmormonthemusical.com.
