David Garver and "The Age Between Sage and Fool" has entertained audiences with its amusing examination of nine men and their mid-life crisis experiences. Set to live music and film vignettes, even an Elvis impersonation, the comedy is coming to Northern New Mexico December 29-30 to the Taos Working Class Theater, www.workingclasstheatrenm.org.

Garver is an award-winning actor and recording artist who has been entertaining audiences for over 35 years. With "The Age Between Sage and Fool," (Video trailer: http://youtu.be/q9PNWrumx3g) he has written a multimedia solo act with a variety of diverse comical characters -- a failed businessman; an un-employed actor turned hit man; a spiritual
sex guru for men; a wild boys night out; a father terrorizing his teen-age daughter's boyfriend; an aging baseball manager; a Dylanesque folk singer; and an Illinois boy trying to re-vitalize his Elvis
Impersonator career -- all acted out by Garver.

"My main motivation is to honor this moment, to hold a mirror up to the whole middle age thing and reveal the humor and pathos of this journey," said Garver. "Getting older, the challenge and blessings of marriage, the fear and loneliness of being alone, divorce, grandchildren, sex, failure and peace of mind and happiness, that is what The Age between Sage and Fool is about."

A film and television actor, Garver's credits include "Buffalo Girls;" ABC Family's "Wildfire," USA's "In Plain Sight;" Ron Howard's film, "The Missing;" and the pilot for "Reconstruction."

His theater work includes "Hamlet," "Macbeth," "Night of the Iguana," "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest," "True West," "The Good Thief," "The Beauty Queen of Leenan," and "A Few Good Men."

For Garver, "The Age Between Sage and Fool" is the result of two years of writing and developing characters, three months of editing and rehearsing, and the last nine months of lauded performances.

When Garver turned 50, his wife took him to Paris for the first time. This cathartic journey raised several questions in his life.

"Now that I'm 50, there are less days in front of the horse for sure," said Garver. "Instead of panicking and retreating into total denial, I decided to explore and honor this weird, profound and frightening period of my life by creating 'The Age Between Sage and Fool' and it's been one of the most profound and rewarding performance experiences of my life! The response has been incredible."

"The Age between Sage and Fool" is Garver's third original one man show. He has also written and performed "A Prayer for the Butcher" and "Looking for the Key with a Microscope."
