"TERRA NOVA" RUNS MAY 31 - JUNE 16 AT THE BLACK BOX THEATRE

No Strings Theatre Company presents "Terra Nova" by Ted Tally directed by Algernon D'Ammassa running May 31 through June 16 at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall. This compelling and imaginative drama explores the character of Robert Falcon Scott ("Scott of the Antarctic") in the final, fatal days of his 1911-12 expedition to the South Pole. The playwright, Ted Tally is the Oscar-winning screenwriter of "The Silence of the Lambs.""Terra Nova's" innovative narrative approaches the character of Scott in an extended dream sequence with rival explorer Roald Amundsen serving as a Greek Chorus making this Talley's most celebrated play.

The production features vintage navigation instruments on loan from NMSU in addition to a cast well known Las Cruces area actors, including David Reyes, Bob Diven, Claire Koleske, Joe T. Meier, Mark Steffen, ERic Young, Charles Lecocq, and William Zimmerman. Lighting is by Peter Herman. Costumes by Gabriele Teich and Tiffini Reimann. Sets by Tiffini Reimann and Algernon D'Ammassa. The Assistant Director is Jill Drake and Stage Manager is Danny Wade.

Performances are Fridays and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday matinees on June 9 and 16 at 2:30 p.m. and a Thursdayperformance on June 13 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 regular admission, $9.00 students and seniors over 65, and all seats on Thursday are $7.00. Reservations (575) 523-1223.

NO STRINGS THEATRE COMPANY OFFERS AN "INTRODUCTION TO ACTING" AT THE BLACK BOX ANNEX IN JUNE

"Introduction to Acting" will be offered at the Black Box Annex, 717A North Mesquite in June by Algernon D'Ammassa who is currently directing NSTC's production of "Terra Nova."."The Introduction to Acting" classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. from June 11 - 27 with a Showcase presentation on June 27 at 7:00 p.m.

Overture...light the lights! An entire century of music represented in one delightful show! In this fabulous revue complete with original music by Greg Gilpin takes us on a celebration of the music that touched our lives, decade by decade, of the last century. The revue is a thrill for all ages and includes favourites from Elvis, The Beach Boys, Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and many more!

Las Cruces Revue Troupe is a community-based group dedicated to providing quality musical entertainment to the city of Las Cruces. LCRT has performed at downtown rambles and at various senior living/nursing homes throughout the city. We are proud to present our first full-length revue, 20th Century Celebration! LCRT members include Al Galves, Alex Wheeler, Amelia Medina, Amber Ryan, Autumn Gieb, Casey Rede, Carol Ayon, Christopher Hornung, Grady Easterling, Jade Diaz, Juli Stephenson, Nora Petty, Rafael Medina, Rebekah Riley, Robert Senecal, Rudy Rodriguez, and Shaun Hadfield.
