According to KOAT Albuguerque, the theatre warehouse that housed the Musical Theatre Southwest burned to the ground yesterday, May 25. The fire began Tuesday afternoon.

The Warehouse stored an innumerable amount of costumes and props from the theatre's long history. Also lost in the fire are DVDs and videos of the theatre's past productions.

Despite the fire department's efforts the roof of The Warehouse caved in. The fire department continues to work at the scene as much of the fabric from costumes has continued to smolder.

There is no information at this time as to how the fire began.

Musical Theatre Southwest's upcoming season incudes THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE and WILLY WONKA. There has been no word whether or not the fire will effect these productions.
