Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDC) partners with MTR Corporation for the "Metamorphosis of HKDC and L'Amour Immortel" Exhibition from 23-31 May 2017 at Maritime Square. The free-entry exhibition celebrates HKDC's artistic endeavours in the last three decades, effort in nurturing new talent and the rerun of its award-winning dance drama L'Amour Immortel. Over the years, HKDC has staged over 100 large-scale productions and has devoted its energy to fostering international artistic exchange and collaboration, assuming the role of Hong Kong cultural ambassador for engaging audiences from all walks of life. This year, HKDC is doubling its effort to reach out to the community by taking its performances to different venues throughout Hong Kong. The "Metamorphosis of HKDC and L'Amour Immortel" Exhibition not only galvanises public interest in dance, but showcases the evolution of Hong Kong's performing arts culture. A free exhibition dedicated solely to L'Amour Immortel will also be shown at the concourse of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from May 23-31.

As we enter our 36th season, HKDC Artistic Director Yang Yuntao hopes to take the audience on a journey of discovery by delving deep into the subject of love and social norm. Through his female protagonists, Yang poses questions about love from a modern perspective and challenges social expectations.

L'Amour Immortel, also known as Tsui Hark's modern classic A Chinese Ghost Story based on a 300-year-old literary classic, chronicles the star-crossed paths of a beautiful, bewitching ghost and good-natured scholar. Gripping and poignant, this time-honoured story celebrates the beauty of love and humanity, which inspired countless film adaptations.

Yang further remarked, "We are delighted to join hands with MTR Corporation to bring our productions to a wider audience. The exhibition is a binding force that brings creative visionaries and the public together, to create and appreciate, to take performance out of the theatrical boundaries and into the community."

Ms Linda So, Corporate Affairs Director of MTR Corporation said, "MTR promotes art and culture through our 'Community Connect' platform, and continues to facilitate the staging of art-related activities by local artists, designers or NGOs in our premises. We are very pleased to work with the Hong Kong Dance Company who shares the same vision, and we hope this exhibition will inspire more MTR customers to appreciate the performing art of dancing."
