This morning, Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells appeared on Morning Joe to reveal that they are returning to Broadway in Gutenberg! The Musical. In the video, the pair discussed the musical being a 'love letter' to musical theatre, how the show is the funniest script they've read since The Book of Mormon, and how the idea originally came to them.

The Hennepin Theatre Trust presents the 2012/2013 Broadway Season, which features five Minnesota debuts: The Book of Mormon, the multi-Tony Award winning musical blockbuster from the creators of "South Park;" War Horse; Catch Me If You Can; Priscilla Queen of the Desert; and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Ghostlight Records has just announced that Carrie: The Musical - Premiere Cast Recording has debuted atop the Billboard 'Top Broadway' Chart for the week ending September 30th. The official chart lists Carrie: The Musical as the #1 selling album of the week, followed by (in order of sales) Wicked, Bring It On, The Book of Mormon, Once, and Jersey Boys, all shows still running on Broadway, making Carrie's appearance atop the chart a rare feat. Released on Tuesday, September 25th, the immediate chart success of Carrie: The Musical signals the enduring qualities of its 2012 production at MCC Theater (which closed its celebrated run in April 2012) and the dynamic score with music by Academy Award®-winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), lyrics by Academy Award®-winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose), and a book by Lawrence D. THE NEW NORMAL's Ellen Barkin appeared on NBC's 'Late Show With Jimmy Fallon' last night to chat about her new comedy premiering September 11th. Barkin spoke about the controversy surrounding the Ryan Murphy-created series which tells the story of a gay couple who relies on a surrogate to have a baby. Check out her appearance below!

Happy Birthday, Andrew Rannells! Rannells played Bob Gaudio in the First National Tour of Jersey Boys. In January 2009, he reprised the role of Gaudio in the musical's Broadway production. Rannells originated the role of Elder Price in The Book of Mormon, a musical written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q composer Robert Lopez. For his performance, he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. His last performance was June 10, 2012. He will soon play Bryan Buckley in Ryan Murphy's new television series The New Normal on NBC.

The 26th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition raised $3,677,855, the result of six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 51 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. The grand total was announced Tuesday at this year's Easter Bonnet Competition, which ended in two shows featuring original presentations, songs, dances and 18 elaborate, custom-made bonnets.
