Ophelia Rewound is an interactive, autobiographical, solo performance which weaves intricate projection mapping, the story of Ophelia and Antigonis lived experience through depression to examine the stereotypes that sit around women and mental health.
The character of Ophelia is a shape-shifting archetype, moving with the social attitudes of women throughout history. This piece reflects this and offers a contemporary and unique perspective on an age-old story; reforming Ophelia the virgin, the seductress, the hysteric, the femme fatale, victim and manipulatorgoing beyond the myth to the person underneath.
The audience's journey begins at the end of Ophelias; with her attempted suicide. But through a series of intimate and thought-provoking interactions they are given the opportunity to become part of the narrative and share a moment of collective transformation.
