Alice, a successful scientist, returns from a gruelling Antarctic trip, to her daughter Alba and her mother Eve. There’s been a flood, a new romance and now a strange gift. It’s 1.30am. Alba sleeps. Eve has never been more awake, dreaming of freedom from a life of commitment to others. And Alice? Maybe those cracks she discovered in the Antarctic ice have followed her home. And maybe they’re also calling her to go back…
Albatross explores how we mess up when we just want to make things better. Like all families, it is explosive, tender and often hilarious. It reveals the human heart to be more vulnerable than we hope but stronger than we believe. And throughout it all, the burning question – what does one generation owe the next?
