I know, at the very least he should be doing jazz hands. or maybe sporting a fosse style bowler hat.

it's hard not to think this is going to be total crap, but i'd still give it a watch if i was in nyc when its on.

In the 11 years that the Hilton Theatre has been open, I think it has only had one hit musical, that was its first one Ragtime that run for 834 performances.

Other shows include;

2000 Jesus Christ Superstar
2001 42nd Street (1,524)
2005 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (285)
2006 Hot Feet
Dr Streuss
2007 The Pirate Queen (85)
2007 Young Frankenstein (484)
2010 Spiderman - Turn off the Dark (??) (???) (????)

Spiderman will certainly need to run for a few years to recoup after a $40 million initial investment.

The Hilton is a lovely theatre, that reminds me in a way of the Prince Edward.

Ragtime did not recoup at the Hilton/ Ford Centre.

Financially, wasn't The Grinch the most successful on that list?

Spiderman with jazz hands BB- I love it. Plus he should be swinging from a mirrorball and his web should be made from slash curtain!

'42nd Street' is its longest runner, nearly 1500 performances, and it never made a penny back.
What they expect with a cast of 54!

What we saying is if Ragtime did not make money and 42nd Street we know lost money, did not know the reason was they had a cast of 54, (understand why Phantom uses Mannequins now).

So to sum up the Hilton has never had a hit show! I thought the Shaftesbury was bad and more recently the Novello.

Just watched the movie of Spiderman, and was constantly wondering how on earth they're going to make him swing across the stage. One solution I came up with was use a flying rig a la Eastwick and a very big video screen.

Any one actually know what the plot of the show is going to be?

This would not normally excite me, excite me except that it has the wonderful Julie Taymor at the helm.

He is going to fly around the theatre on visible strings (like Billy does during the dream ballet) and the tricks he does in the air is supposed to take away from the fact he is actually strapped in.

Does anyone remember the 'Lyric' and 'Apollo' which has been combined to make the Hilton?
