Wow, I did not know that. The Broadway production has been destined to close, so even though it is sad, I'm not at all surprised.

There is still a sit-down Las Vegas production, as well as a national tour going on.

I doubt that Buddy will return to The Shubert considering that there are tons of shows that need theatres.

By the way, how is Cuba. I have always wanted to know considering that it is a place I could never legally visit myself what with me being an American and all.

As incredibly successful as 'Buddy' has been in the UK and the West End Its one show that wont be back on Broadway. It was the first show to play The Schubert in New York after 'A Chorus Line' had ended it's 15 year run in April 1990. The theatre was totally refurbished and 'Buddy' opened in Nov 1990 only to close just 5 months later. (Quickly followed by the 4 yr run of 'Crazy For You')
Its a shame that the UK production of 'Buddy' wasn't put to rest after its original Victoria Palace run as it has just got weaker and cheaper ever since.
'Spamalot' is camp, silly, spectacular entertainment and doesn't pretend to be anything else- I'll miss it!
