I really hope DRS comes to London, but just wondering who would people cast in the two male leads, as (like The Producers) its these names that will keep people coming back.

Opening
Jonathan Pryce & NORBERT LEO BUTZ

Future Casts
Anthony Head & ?

Robert Lindsey & Kris Marshal

I really am hopin DRS come to London too...sooner than other musicals took to come over (The Producers, Hairspray[eventually])
I wouldn't be surprised if it opened with Jonathan Pryce and Norbert Leo Butz after the success the pair of them got on Broadway. But whether they try to do what they have done with the producers and put famous people in constantly after is unknown, they didn't on Broadway, to my knowledge (That is to say, I haven't heard of them).

Emma Williams as the female lead.

Sally Ann Triplett as Muriel and Rebecca Thornhill as Jolene

Its unlikley the show will come to London now unfortunatly.

the cast above was amazing and if it DOES come true I hope they're recording it! Hope it replaces Daddy Cool in Shaftesbury!

Here here! Or is hear hear...?
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

I somehow doubt the show will transfer. Seeing as it closed with a loss on Broadway.

As with most broadway shows it closed with a loss(a very small one)but the shows tour will take it in to profit very quickly as most broadway tours do.

The show as far as i know IS coming over here some time next year or 2008 and i can see it doing well.

I think this is a show that could run for a while

Its a shame that everyone went on about this show so much ,how great it was etc yet as with most shows in new york doesnt have a great run anymore.

As far as I've heard, it is definatly going to London, and Jon Pryce will be playing Lawrence. I doubt Norbert would do it. I've also heard Rachel York may be coming over (a la Kiss Me Kate London transfer type thing)

I saw the show in NYC with Jonathan Pryce, Rachel York, Lucie Arnaz and Greg Jbara. Norbert was out, but his understudy was excellent.

I thought that Jonathan and Rachel had amazing chemistry together. Their relationship added a wonderful dimension to the show that counterbalanced the zaniness of the two male leads.

London would be lucky to have them.

I saw the show in the states if two key people to making this work is Joanna Gleason and Greg Jbara. Their chemistry onstage was just wonderful. I know that their storyline is second fiddle to the main one, but they were great together on stage. It would be a blessing to have them back together again.

If 2007 brings DRS or HAIRSPRAY I'll be happy. Both were incredible on Broadway.

I also love SPELLING BEE, but I can't see that transfering.

URINETOWN is also a must-see! (so much better, I believe, than Q)

It's ok.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels the musical is what we're on about.
I hope they give some of the broadway hits a chance in London. Spelling Bee would be so brill to see over here (As it's so funny)as would Hairspray. (Hairspray I know is probably comming over anyway)

Spelling Bee is fantastic but i doubt it will ever come here we only seem to get the big overblown hits.

I would love to see DRS here as well as the Wedding Singer(so funny) and the Color Purple(fantastic show)and of course Hairspray but we get that next year.

Actually I don't think we will get Hairspray, unfortunately. I've been in contact with Grindrod Associates (who did some casting for the movie and started casting it a few years back before it was pulled) Anyway, the thought is that because there is so much from America opening in the West End over the next little while, that it probably won't make it at this point. I really hope it does make it though! I LOVE the show and I think London could use a little hairspray :)
