I thought it was great production, not brilliant, but it was great seeing those Burt Bacharach/Hal David numbers staged by Rob Ashford. Slightly miss cast but well worth a visit.
We wont see it in London.

Any word on a cast recording of the wonderful "La Cage aux Folles" revival?

Why do you think it won't transfer to London, MamasDoin'Fine?

I think that Bacharach, like Motown, has even more cachet in the UK than in the US.

I'd love to see Mark Umbers play the lead.

Can't understand why they moved the year show was set from 1967 to 1962.

"Can't understand why they moved the year show was set from 1967 to 1962."

The critics believe it's so they could use the MAD MEN aesthetic in the production, which wouldn't be appropriate in the late 60s.

I feel really dumb. Despite knowing the score pretty well, I didn't realise until recently that "Promises. Promises" is a musical version of Billy Wilder's 'The Apartment" - which just happens to be one of my favourite movies (the use of a tennis racket to strain spaghetti is particularly memorable).

Mad Men is a HBO television series that is set in the early 1960's. Most of the male characters are shown to be heavy drinking womanisers.

I'm disappointed that they moved the action back to the early 1960's as the later 60's would have provided the designers greater and more interesting options.

Some good moments in the show but I agree, I highly doubt a West End transfer here. Its doing well in NYC, but give it a few months and sadly I can't see it suriving past xmas!

Makes you wonder with all the shows to revive why this and now Zorba are being chosen. I think a lot of it just when the star turns up...

Mad Men is possibly one of the best shows on TV.
