I will read this at my leisure at work later today, but after being stuck on a signal failure for many hours this evening, my brain has gone!

Does it still feel good to be chief theatre critic for what's on stage (North West)?

No disrespect Dantes, I did not enjoy this article as much as I did the other two, but then it does not reflect the type of theatre I love, it is like talking football to a rugby fan, but still the article is very well written.

I enjoyed the why so 'gay' article because I agree theatre show creators have a gay camp scene or character in some shows and yes you can add the show The Producers to your list, however I never thought a gay character was for 'comedy relief' I always assumed it was for the massive gay audience that attend theatre. I remember on a radio chat show presented by a gay presenter (Bill Buckley), asked the question "why is musical theatre loved by straight women and gay blokes", I guess there is a lot of mileage to the radio presenters statement, so that is why I assumed it is to appease the vast gay audience that attend musical theatre or am I wrong?

La Cage aux Folles is probably a prime contender for a musical to target a gay audience, a lot of people on here loved the show as it reflected acceptance, at a time when acceptance was very hard especially when homosexuality and aids were falsely connected. As you say in your article "Being gay myself my sexuality only represents one side of me, it does not define who I am or my existence", so Ihope acceptance is lot less of a issue today, in the mean time Le Cage should be regarded nothing more than a great musical.

In the meantime I am glad I did not have to jailbreak your latest contribution, so Broadwayworld fans can read your great supplements and can be enjoyed by all for free! only teasing, keep the great writing up. x
