About the Theatre
The Old Opera House is one of the oldest operating live theatres in the state of West Virginia. This charming facility in historic Charles Town has a rich tradition and is noted for staging some of the area’s finest live theatre; each year staging an eclectic variety of musicals, dramas, and comedies. The Old Opera House Arts Centre offers classes in acting, dance (ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, Hip-Hop, and Broadway-style dance), music, and scenic art and design. The Old Opera House Arts Centre currently trains over 180 young performers in the performing arts. The Jean Heiler Art Gallery, on the lower level of the Old Opera House, regularly displays artwork of local and regional artists.
West Virginia Critics Wanted
BWW is always seeking talented theater enthusiasts to head up feature coverage our over 130 regional areas. As a Contributing Editor, you will have the opportunity to review the shows of your choice, conduct interviews with local and touring talent, design features of your own choosing for publishing, and work/network with your local theater press reps to bring exposure to the theatrical offerings in your area.
All applicants should have excellent writing skills and an interest for giving local theaters and productions some prominence on BroadwayWorld.com.
