Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, the Tony award winning Broadway classic, will be heading to the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019 at 7:30 PM as part of the Marshall Artist Series 2019 season. The show will be presented by Reynolds and Associates, American Babbitt Bearing, Pritchard Electric, Chapman Printing, and Hoops Family Hospital.

The play, a fresh take on the Cinderella fairy tale complete with new songs and modern scenery, was originally written for television in 1957 for a production starring Julie Andrews, before making its way to Broadway in 2013.

Cinderella features a book by Douglas Carter Beane which introduced many new characters, including a stepsister who is sympathetic to Cinderella's plight. Additionally, the show boasts lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and music by Richard Rodgers. During its 770 performance Broadway run the production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, winning one for Best Costumes.

Tickets prices range from $64.42 to $98.42 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com or through the Marshall Artist Series Box Office located at the Joan C. Edwards playhouse on the Marshall University Campus. Box office hours are Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. You can also call the box office at (304) 696-6656.
