Photo Flash: First Look at Synetic Theater's 'Wordless' AS YOU LIKE IT
All the world's a stage for Synetic Theater's 12th silent Shakespeare adaptation, AS YOU LIKE IT, directed by Paata Tsikurishvili with choreography by Irina Tsikurishvili. The witty and resourceful Rosalind, along with her devoted cousin Celia, are forced to flee their lives of luxury for an unfamiliar world - the bleak streets of a rusted urban wasteland. Their grim exile is transformed once Rosalind encounters the lovelorn Orlando, who fails to recognize the object of his affections in disguise! Synetic's purely physical interpretation of As You Like It promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of the nature of traditional gender roles, societal class, and love with visual imagery and original music that will be hard to forget. This production will not have dialogue.
AS YOU LIKE IT is recommended for ages 13+ for sexual content, gun violence, and mature themes. The show runs Dec. 9, 2015 through Jan. 17, 2016 at Synetic Theater, Crystal City, VA - 1800 S.
