BWW News: Theatre Lab Takes on THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (Week Two)

Last week, we started a four part vBlog series on the making of The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts' upcoming production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The production runs July 19th to 21st for four performances as part of Theatre Lab's Summer Musical Theatre Institute for Teens.

Week one's video showed you a little bit of the first table read and co-directors Deb Gottesman and Buzz Mauro and the cast getting acquainted with the complexities of this mammoth Alan Menken/Stephen Schwartz musical.

This week, things are starting to ramp up. In this second installment, you will see the cast learning a bit of choreography from Synetic Theater's Kathy Gordon and see how fight choreographer extraordinaire Casey Kaleba keeps everyone safe. Yes, those punches and fights are carefully staged so no one gets hurt. You will also see how the set is progressing as the crew starts the production build under the supervision of Technical Director Angelo Merenda.

Two weeks down and only two more until production; enjoy this week's installment of The Making of The Hunchback of Notre Dame!

Video produced by The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts' Marketing and Events Manager Kara Turner.
