Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol (Lizards Lying in the Sun) is a fiery young Mexico City-based collective who create multimedia performance projects with an extraordinary sense of narrative. El Rumor del Incendio (Rumor of the Fire) is an exploration of their parents’ Mexico in the 1960s: a time when young revolutionaries took up arms in a desperate attempt to change society. Using documents, scale models, figurines, and video, they concoct an epic piece of documentary theater that sheds light on the nature of rebellion and the utopian desires of their predecessors.
