The Dance Centre’s Discover Dance! noon series features Voirelia Dance Hub, an innovative Vancouver company whose original contemporary dance works draw on psychology, philosophy and literature. Choreographed by Alina Sotskova, De/Formed Revival is inspired by Renaissance art and sculpture. Three expressive, finely honed dancers (Hana Rutka, Ben DeFaria, and Will Jessup) trace a journey of transformation. Using the metaphor of sculptures coming to life, the work explores how to emerge from a mould that someone else has built around us – to release the past and embrace change.
